About Us

We're Daltrey Abney of Discover Educational Therapy and Lizeth Sandoval of Blossom Educational Therapy, two Los Angeles educational therapists and former special education teachers. Every day we help kids, parents and neurodivergent adults find tools that fit how their brains work.

As neurodivergent women, we know the ADHD tax from both sides of the table. We see it in our work every week, with drawers full of fidgets nobody uses, planners abandoned by February and timers that never quite worked. And we've paid it ourselves. We're passionate about making tools for neurodivergent people easier to find, easier to try and easier to afford. The Regulation Lab is our answer: a place to find what fits before spending a dollar.

Daltrey Abney, MSc, ET/P

Lizeth Sandoval, MA, ET/P

Lizeth is the founder of Blossom Educational Therapy, a Los Angeles practice that also serves clients virtually. She earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies from Cal State Northridge and her Education Specialist Credential, then spent years as a special education teacher supporting students ages 5 to 20. Her drive to help students reach their full potential led her to earn a Master of Arts in Educational Therapy. She is now a Ph.D. candidate in Global Leadership and Change at Pepperdine University.

Lizeth specializes in reading, math and executive function skills, with a whole-learner approach that builds academic skills alongside social-emotional well-being, independence and self-advocacy. She's a member of the Association of Educational Therapists and brings her own lived experience as a neurodivergent person to her work.

Outside of work, she loves traveling, camping and spending time with her loved ones and her two dogs.

Daltrey founded Discover Educational Therapy in Los Angeles in 2020 and has grown it into a collaborative team serving neurodivergent students, adults and their families. She holds a dual degree in Elementary Education and History from Boston College and a Master of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King's College London. She completed her educational therapy training at UC Riverside and is a professional-level certified educational therapist through the Association of Educational Therapists.

Before educational therapy, she taught at an international school in Japan and at Pacific Point Academy, a Los Angeles school for students with learning differences. Today she specializes in ADHD+ profiles: people with ADHD alongside co-occurring conditions such as autism, anxiety, dyslexia, dyscalculia and processing differences. Her work translates neuroscience and executive functioning research into practical, individualized strategies for regulation, task initiation, attention and long-term independence.

As both a clinician and a neurodivergent person, Daltrey brings professional expertise and lived experience to every client she works with.

MindBloom Math

This isn't our first collaboration. Together we created MindBloom, a line of accessible, engaging math resources designed for students with learning differences. The Regulation Lab grows from the same belief: the right tool, matched to the right learner, changes everything.

MindBloom resources address one of the biggest challenges for ADHDers with an aversion to math: working memory. Using strategies backed by neuroscience, we are developing tools that can be utilized not only on the individual level, but also at the school-wide curriculum level. Using the principals of Universal Design for Learning, our hope is that by creating tools that work for our learners, we can build a more accessible math tools for ALL learners.

About our Hands-On Lab @ ADHD2026

Why we built this lab

The right tool can change someone's whole day. The wrong one ends up in a drawer, along with the money spent on it. Too many tools for neurodivergent people are sold only online, so you can't feel the texture, hear the alarm or flip the pages before you buy. We wanted a space where people with ADHD, and everyone who supports them, can try tools with their own hands, compare them side by side and walk away knowing what works for them. Nothing is for sale. We just want you to find your fit.

This interactive wellness session invites you to reset while exploring tools that support focus, regulation, and follow-through. Move at your own pace through five themed stations—Find Your Fidget Lab, Brain Break Bar, Start Smart Station, Time & Task Hub, and Regulate & Reset Zone—each offering a different type of reset, from movement and sensory input to task initiation and calming strategies. Rather than being told what works, you’ll experiment with a variety of tools, compare options, and identify what fits your unique needs. As you explore, you’ll build a personalized “toolbox” of strategies you can use in daily life, with optional links to easily find tools you want to revisit. Come take a break and leave with tools that actually work.
